So now I guess I'm going to have to learn this song and substitute the music track for my own and that way I will probably be able to put it on my YouTube channel. Though most of my YouTube videos are original songs, or standards in the public domain, I have posted a few covers that probably are technically copyright infringement. We say everybody does it, and it’s true. Practically everybody does it. Apparently there is some sort of recognition software that will spot a recording right away. Someone doing a cover must be spotted by a human, I think. Anyway. I think a certain amount of covering of songs is a tribute and helps the artist have their work recognized so they can get more fans. Right? If someone hears this song and then goes on amazon, or itunes or whatever and buys it, didn’t I just help them by putting their song to my video? The way the music industry is going these days it’s scary. You have to be able to rally and get your fans going and use social media, and crowdsource, and all that fun indie talk, and some of us, even tho we might be talented artists, are not good at social media and at what amounts essentially to selling ourselves. It’s a jungle out there.
